Well, in my case its a migration away from balloons and more towards inflatables. I also used to very rarely pop balloons/toys, but that was mainly because I was trying to preserve my pitifully small stock ;) Nowadays I enjoy popping both, but its mainly inflatables and especially beachballs. I think because I have less free time to set them up, I also dont do as many massed-popping sessions either now, just one or two at a time these days. Recently though I got chance to have a session where I blew up half a dozen beachballs, ranging from "20 right up to a lovely "36 one, and popped 5 of them over an afternoon, and deflated one (the biggest beachball- it seemed a shame to burst it the first time I'd ever inflated it).
In terms of popping methods Ive changed as well. I used to prefer puncturing and repairing beachballs, to make them last as long as possible. Nowadays I get more of a turn-on with shredding a toy beyond repair ;)
