Maybe it not really the fact your are afraid of the noise the firecrackers/fireworks give, it might be your afraid of getting hurt by them or actually a firework sounds more like gunfire then a balloon popping. I'm a popper, but sometimes when doing any kind of balloon popping can still startle me sometimes, or I panic before the balloon burst and pops.
