i'm really surprised that people are into really loud stuff like fireworks and guns but not balloons. for me it seems natural to be able to enjoy balloon popping, which is not so loud and doesn't actually explode but retain my phobia of much louder and potentially dangerous noises.

having said that i'd love to beat my firework phobia, it makes a certain time of year very difficult for me.
