Just confirming what others have said. I have seen quite a few injuries from this being done, and some have been quite serious. Usually ruptured eardrums, nosebleeds and quite serious burns
Sounds like you are going to do it anyway.
Pure acetlyene will not give a boom at all.
Hydrogen and Oxygen will, and is more stable than Acetylene and Oxygen. Note, the H and O2 mix is still very very dangerous
