I chose the handle Sorceress from a series of books written by David and Leigh Eddings entitled
The Belgariad.

Sorceress is another name given to Lady Polgara by those who admire her and those who fear her. When Polgara's mother, Poledra, died giving birth to twin girls her father Belgarath, the Sorcerer was away thus the twins were raised by an Uncle. Belgarath was deeply sadden when he returned home learning of Poledra's death. Seeing his daughters he touched a lock of Polgara's black hair turning it white thus marking her a Sorceress.

Beldara was blonde and the weaker of the twins. She would marry the Rivan King when the time came and bare him a son who would become the Rivan King.

Polgara, as a young Sorceress, was a very strong willed woman who became aware of her powers at a young age as she reaches within herself for those powers using the Will and the Word to accomplish unimaginable things.

Polgara the Sorceress, along with the other members making up the family become the guardians of the heir to the Rivan Throne over the centuries. She is a very powerful woman in the world with great riches.

When the Will and the Word is used there are noises heard by others with the same ability to use the Will and the Word so it is used with caution.

The Sorceress does not conjure up childish spells as some believe. She is able to do many things with the Will and the Word. Her adventures and those of her family are many have been known for centuries.



If you enjoy reading then I recommend these books. The Belgariad, is the first part of the series. The Malloren and The Elenium completes the trilogy.
(The Elenium is a completely other series involving Sparhawk but completes the trilogy by Eddings.)
